Quick answer
The best Typeform alternative depends on what you are leaving. For the same one-question-at-a-time flow without per-response pricing, Forms costs $19 a month for unlimited responses. Tally has the biggest free plan, Fillout includes 1,000 free responses a month, Jotform is the all-in-one choice, and Google Forms suits free internal forms.
The best Typeform alternative depends on what you are leaving behind. If you like Typeform's one-question-at-a-time forms but not the bill, Forms gives you that format for $19 a month with unlimited responses. Tally has the biggest free plan, Fillout includes 1,000 free responses a month, Jotform is the all-in-one platform, and Google Forms covers free internal forms.

FormsWhy do people look for a Typeform alternative?
Mostly price. Typeform's Basic plan costs $39 a month billed monthly and includes 100 responses a month. Collecting 1,000 responses a month means moving to Plus at $79, and 10,000 means Business at $129. Billed yearly, those three plans come to $28, $56 and $91 a month.
The format itself is worth keeping. Showing one question at a time makes a form feel like a conversation instead of paperwork. It works well on a phone, it lets you branch on every answer, and it keeps people focused on the question in front of them. The GOV.UK Design System recommends one question per page by default for the same reasons. The good news is that you no longer need Typeform's prices to get it.

Which Typeform alternatives are worth trying?
Five tools cover almost every reason to switch. This table compares what matters when you leave Typeform: the format, the free plan and the first paid step.
| Tool | Best for | One question at a time | Free plan | Paid from (billed monthly) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forms | Typeform-style forms on a flat price | Yes, the default | 1 active form, 100 responses a month, payments and Google Sheets included | $19/mo, unlimited forms and responses (fair use) |
| Tally | The most generous free plan | Possible, with a page break after each question | Unlimited forms and submissions (fair use) | $24/mo |
| Fillout | Lots of free responses | Multi-page forms | 1,000 responses a month | $15/mo for 2,000 responses |
| Jotform | An all-in-one form platform | Yes, card layout | 5 forms, 100 submissions a month | $39/mo for 25 forms and 1,000 submissions |
| Google Forms | Free, simple internal forms | No | Free with a Google account | Part of Google Workspace |
1. Forms: best for Typeform-style forms without per-response pricing
Forms is the closest match to Typeform's experience at a flat price. Every form shows one question at a time by default. Pro costs $19 a month, or $144 billed yearly ($12 a month), for unlimited forms and responses under a fair use policy.

What you get:
- 25 question types, including payments, a booking scheduler, signatures, file uploads up to 100 MB, and video or audio answers. See all 25.
- Payments on every plan, through your own Stripe account, with no Forms transaction fee.
- Google Sheets on every plan: each response is added as a new row within seconds.
- Logic that jumps, skips or hides screens based on answers, hidden fields or device, plus quiz scoring and recall of earlier answers with @.
- 48 templates and 12 themes, with contrast checks so text stays readable.
- Embeds inline, as a popup, a slide-in panel or a side tab, plus links and QR codes.
- On Pro: an AI form builder (100 builds and 500 edits a month), your own custom domain with HTTPS, and signed webhooks for Zapier, Make and n8n.
- Private by default: no IP addresses stored and no tracking cookies on public forms.
Where it falls short: Forms is new. It launched in October 2026, so it has no long track record or review history yet. Its free plan allows one active form at a time, and connections beyond Google Sheets and Stripe go through webhooks rather than a catalogue of native integrations. For a direct head-to-head, read Forms vs Typeform.
2. Tally: best free plan
Tally gives you unlimited forms and submissions for free, within its fair usage guidelines. That is the most generous free plan in this list by a distance. Pro costs $24 a month, or $288 a year, and adds features like custom branding and team collaboration. Business costs $74 a month.

Where it falls short: Tally's default is a document-style page with every question visible at once. To show one question at a time you add a page break after each question yourself. If the conversational format is the reason you chose Typeform, expect some manual set-up. See Forms vs Tally for the detail.
3. Fillout: best for many free responses
Fillout's free plan includes 1,000 responses a month, ten times the free allowance of Typeform's paid Basic plan. Paid plans start at $15 a month for 2,000 responses, then $40 for 5,000 and $75 for unlimited.

Where it falls short: Fillout is built around multi-page forms. Check that its layouts give you the one-question flow you liked in Typeform before you move everything over. Response limits still apply on every plan below Business.
4. Jotform: best all-in-one platform
Jotform does far more than forms, including approvals, PDFs, tables and apps. Its card layout shows one question at a time. The free Starter plan allows 5 forms and 100 submissions a month. Bronze costs $39 a month, or $34 a month billed yearly, for 25 forms and 1,000 submissions.

Where it falls short: limits are counted per form and per submission, so costs climb as you grow. The builder also carries far more than a simple survey needs. Read Forms vs Jotform for a side-by-side.
5. Google Forms: best if free and plain is enough
Google Forms is free with a Google account. It is fine for internal surveys, sign-ups and classroom quizzes, and responses land in Google Sheets without any set-up.

Where it falls short: there is no one-question-at-a-time layout and little control over design, so it rarely suits a form your customers see. There is no built-in way to take payments. See Forms vs Google Forms.
How much does each one cost at 1,000 responses a month?
At 1,000 responses a month, Typeform costs $79, Jotform $39 and Forms $19, billed monthly. Fillout and Tally cost nothing on their free plans at that volume.

For the full breakdown at 100, 1,000 and 10,000 responses, read my guide to Typeform pricing.
How do I choose the right Typeform alternative?
Start from what pushed you off Typeform, then pick the tool that fixes exactly that.
- You love the format but not the bill: Forms. It keeps one question at a time and swaps per-response pricing for one flat price.
- You want to pay nothing: Tally, or Fillout if you need many responses on a free plan.
- You need approvals, PDFs and apps in one place: Jotform.
- It is an internal form for your own team: Google Forms.
- You need payments without a monthly fee: Forms takes Stripe payments on its free plan, with no Forms transaction fee.
Whatever you choose, the form's design decides whether people finish it. My guide to one-question-at-a-time forms covers when that format helps and when it hurts.
Is Forms really cheaper than Typeform?
Yes, for the same one-question format at any real volume. At 1,000 responses a month, Typeform Plus is $79 billed monthly and Forms Pro is $19. At 10,000, Typeform Business is $129 and Forms Pro is still $19.
It is not cheaper than everything. Tally and Fillout are free at volumes where Forms needs Pro. Forms is for people who want Typeform's experience at a predictable price, not the lowest possible price.
