Quick answer: We are freelance web designers, and we build the site as well as design it, at one fixed price. The website sprint is $1,999 and takes 14 days when the scope on that page fits and the content is ready. There is no hourly rate. The site goes live on your domain at the end of that sprint.
What a freelance web designer does
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics describes the work in two parts: web developers create and maintain websites, and digital designers develop, create, and test layout, functions, and navigation. A freelance web designer you hire directly is one point of contact for that work, with no agency layer between you.
When you hire us, that covers the design, the page structure, the build, and the launch. The same hands do each step.
Freelancer, agency, or website builder?
There are three common ways to get a site made. Each of these can be a good fit, depending on your budget, your time, and how much you want to do yourself.
| Compare | This practice | An agency | A website builder you use yourself |
|---|---|---|---|
| What you pay | A fixed sprint price. Website sprint $1,999. Landing page $700. No hourly rate. | Whatever that agency quotes. This page does not state an agency price. | The builder's subscription, plus your time. |
| How long | 14 days for the website sprint, 5 days for a landing page, when the scope fits. | Not stated here. | However long you take. |
| Who does the work | The person who designs it also builds it. | Often split across people. | You do. |
| Who owns the site | Source code and design files are yours at handover. Domain and hosting accounts stay in your name. | Depends on that contract. | You hold the account, under that product's terms. |

What you get when you hire us
The website in 14 days sprint lists what the $1,999 covers:
- Custom design, not a template with a logo swapped in.
- Every page designed, not only the homepage.
- Custom-coded, and checked on a phone.
- SEO fundamentals: structure, meta, schema, and a sitemap.
- A CMS if you need to edit the site yourself.
- Live on your domain, with analytics connected.
- Source code and design files are yours at handover.
- 30 days of support after launch, included.
That sprint page also says revisions are included. The schedule runs days 1 to 2 for the brief and structure, days 3 to 7 for design, days 8 to 12 for the build, and days 13 to 14 for launch.
You supply the copy or approved drafts, your logo, photos, and access to your domain. A large ecommerce catalogue, new copy written across dozens of pages, or a multi-language build sits outside that price, and we quote it separately.
If you want the site in Framer specifically, that is its own sprint: Framer website in 14 days, also $1,999 and 14 days, and your team can edit it afterward. Shaheer holds Contra's Framer Expert badge, and Framer website development covers Framer work outside the sprint. For the broader service, see website design services.
How much a freelance web designer costs
We quote by the project, never by the hour. The website sprint is $1,999, fixed, and the landing page in 5 days sprint is $700. Every price is on sprint pricing, and there is no hourly rate, so feedback and questions never run up a bill.
If you are pricing a project, the project cost calculator gives a rough number. If you are a designer setting your own rate, the freelance rate calculator works backward from the income you need.
For a sense of what the work pays as a job, the BLS reports a May 2025 US median wage of $92,650 for web developers and $104,000 for web and digital interface designers. Those are annual wages for employees. They are not a freelance quote, and the BLS notes that its pay figures leave out self-employed workers.
How to choose a freelance web designer
- Look at the portfolio. Look for live sites, not only mockups. See the case studies.
- Ask for the process in writing. A fixed schedule, like days 1 to 14 above, tells you when each part is done.
- Ask who builds it. If the designer hands the files to someone else, ask who that is and how the design survives the handover.
- Check what happens after launch. The website sprint includes 30 days of support. Ask any designer what theirs covers.
- Confirm who owns what. You should hold the domain, the hosting, the source code, and the design files.
How it works, step by step
- Send a brief or book a 30-minute call.
- Get a fixed quote within 24 hours.
- Days 1 to 2: brief and structure. Days 3 to 7: design. Days 8 to 12: build.
- Days 13 to 14: launch on your domain, after the staging site is reviewed.
- 30 days of support after launch.

Freelance web designer questions
How much does it cost to hire a freelance web designer?
On our website sprint it is $1,999, fixed, live in 14 days when that scope fits. A landing page is $700 in 5 days. There is no hourly rate. In May 2025 the US median wage was $92,650 for web developers and $104,000 for web and digital interface designers. Those are wages, not a freelance quote.
Is a freelancer cheaper than an agency?
We cannot cite a percentage. The freelancer versus agency page, and the cost calculator, compare a freelancer, an agency, and an in-house hire. Use those. Our own price is the fixed sprint on this page, $1,999 for the website sprint or $700 for a landing page, with no hourly rate.
How long does a website take?
The website sprint takes 14 days: two days on structure, five on design, four on the build, and two on launch. That holds when the content is ready on day one and the scope fits the sprint page. A landing page sprint takes 5 days. A larger site gets its own quote and date before work starts.
Do you also write the copy and handle SEO?
The website sprint includes SEO fundamentals: page structure, meta tags, schema, and a sitemap. It does not include writing the copy. You supply the words, or approved drafts. On the pricing estimator, copywriting is a separate add-on at $700. None of this is a promise that Google rankings will rise.
Which platform will my site be built on?
The 14-day website sprint is custom-coded. If you want Framer, that is a separate sprint, also $1,999 and 14 days, and your team can edit it afterward. We also design and build Framer sites outside that sprint. The stack can be agreed on the call.
Who owns the site after launch?
You do. The website sprint says the source code and design files are yours at handover, and the domain, DNS, and hosting accounts stay in your name. If a CMS is in scope, your team can edit the site without waiting on us for every line.
