Designer and developer. I design and build these projects myself.
A focused iPhone app, one job done well, can be designed, built, tested on TestFlight and submitted in 30 days; mine is $2,500 fixed for that. Apple's review then adds about one to three days. Three days from idea to App Store is not realistic for a real app.
Where the time goes
- Design: the screens and flows, agreed before building
- Build: the app, its data and sign-in
- TestFlight: real people using it on real phones
- App Store listing: screenshots, description, privacy details
- Apple's review: usually one to three days, sometimes a rejection to fix
If you need something this week
A mobile web app (a website that works like an app on the phone) can be live in days, with no store review. It is often the right first version to test whether people use it before paying for a native app.
What you need before starting
An Apple Developer account in your name ($99 a year from Apple), the one main thing the app must do, and the screens or apps you like. iPhone and Android together, from one codebase, is the same $2,500 in 30 days.
- Price
- $2,500 fixed
- Time
- 30 days to submission
- Apple review
- About 1 to 3 days
- Apple account
- $99 a year, yours
When this is not the right fit
If the app needs complex integrations, payments between users or regulated data, it is a bigger scoped project, not a 30-day sprint.
