Quick answer: Hire me as a Figma designer and you get an organised Figma file your developers can build from: every screen and state, a component library and a clickable prototype, in 14 days for a fixed $1,999. The file is yours at handover. If you want the design built too, the build sprints include it.
Who this is for, and who it is not
This page is for hiring a figma designer for a defined piece of work. It is not a job listing.
- Teams whose Figma files are a scatter of loose frames. Rebuilt on components, named, with the decisions written beside the screens.
- Developers waiting on a design. Every screen and state decided, so nobody guesses mid-build.
- Founders who need a prototype. Clickable, and real enough to test with users and show investors.
It is the wrong buy in these cases:
- Design with nobody to build it. A Figma file is not a product; a build sprint fits better.
- Retrofitting a design system across a large existing product. That is its own project.
- Pixel-matching a competitor. A reference is welcome; it is not the brief.
What the 14 days look like
The product design in 14 days sprint, $1,999, runs on a schedule written down before you commit:
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Days 1 to 2 | Flows. The journeys that matter, mapped before anything is drawn. What the product does, in what order, and which screens actually exist. |
| Days 3 to 8 | Screens. Every screen designed against real content. You see the core flow first, so anything I have misread surfaces while it is still cheap to change. |
| Days 9 to 11 | States and system. The parts nobody designs: empty, loading, error, partial: plus the component library the build will be made of. |
| Days 12 to 14 | Prototype and handover. Wired into a clickable prototype, the file organised and documented, and a call with the people who have to build it. |
What is in the Figma file
- Every screen designed: flows, empty states, errors and loading, not just the happy path.
- A component library your developers build against.
- A clickable prototype, real enough to test and to show investors.
- Mobile and desktop where the product needs both.
- A handover call with whoever builds it.
- The decisions written beside the screens, not just the screens.
- The Figma file, yours and organised at handover.
- Two rounds of revisions inside the fortnight.
Your developers can inspect the file with Figma's Dev Mode. For AI coding tools, Figma's MCP server gives agents the frames, variables and components; design systems AI agents can build with explains the setup.
What hiring a figma designer costs
| Route | Typical price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Figma freelancers on marketplaces | $25 to $150 an hour (junior $25 to $50, senior $75 to $150); projects $1,000 to $25,000; retainers $2,000 to $8,000 a month | Contra's Figma guide |
| UI/UX agencies | Most $25 to $49 an hour; UX projects typically over $10,000 | Clutch, updated 21 September 2026 |
| Me | $1,999 for 14 days, design only | Product design sprint |
Figma itself is separate: a Professional full seat was $16 a month billed annually and a dev seat $12 when I checked on 28 October 2026, with viewing and commenting free on paid plans.
How to vet any figma designer
Whoever you hire, check these before you sign:
- Components and variables. A button changed once should change everywhere.
- Auto layout that resizes. Frames that adapt to content and screen size, not fixed pixels.
- Named, organised pages. Someone new should find the checkout flow in a minute.
- States past the happy path. Empty, loading, error and partial states drawn, not left to the developer.
- A prototype that clicks through. The core flow wired up, so people can test it before it is built.
A Figma file is not a website
Figma is where the design is decided; something still has to be built. If you want a live marketing site, a Framer designer who builds it skips the handoff, for $1,999 in 14 days. If you have developers, the Figma file is the right deliverable.
From Figma to Framer, or to code
Moving a Figma design into Framer is a rebuild with components and breakpoints, not an import; the Framer Marketplace lists a Figma Sync plugin for styles and assets, covered on Figma and Framer. For a coded product, the web app sprint designs and builds from $1,999 in 21 days.
About me
I am a product designer and developer based in Dubai, working with teams in US, EU and GCC time zones. I spoke at GITEX Dubai 2023, and I hold Contra's Framer Expert badge. The work is in the case studies, and every role you can hire me for is on hire me. Outside prices on this page were checked on 29 October 2026 unless the table says otherwise.
Figma designer questions
How much does a Figma designer cost?
Contra's guide puts Figma freelancers at $25 to $150 an hour, with projects from $1,000 to $25,000. My product design sprint is $1,999 fixed for 14 days, and the Figma file is yours.
Will my developers be able to build from the file?
That is the point of it: a component library, every state drawn, decisions written beside the screens, and a handover call with whoever builds it.
Do I need a paid Figma plan?
For your developers to inspect and build from the file, usually yes. On 28 October 2026 a Professional dev seat was $12 a month billed annually; viewing and commenting were free on paid plans.
Can you clean up our existing Figma file?
Yes, as part of a scoped sprint: frames rebuilt on components, pages organised and states filled in, quoted fixed before work starts.
Can AI coding tools use the file?
Yes. Figma's MCP server gives tools such as Claude Code and Cursor the frames, variables and components, so agents build against your design instead of guessing.
