Quick answer: Hire me as a brand designer for a working identity system: a logo and mark, a colour and type system checked for contrast, written guidelines and a social and collateral kit, as editable files you own. It is quoted as one fixed price within 24 hours. Because I also build websites, the brand can go live on a $1,999 site in 14 days.
Who this is for, and who it is not
This page is for hiring a brand designer for a defined piece of work. It is not a job listing.
- Startups before a launch or a raise. A brand that matches the company investors and customers are about to meet.
- Companies whose look trails their traction. A visual refresh that keeps the recognition you have built.
- Teams that need the brand applied, not just delivered. A site, a deck and product screens that look like one company.
It is the wrong buy in these cases:
- Before you know who buys. A clean wordmark carries a landing page while you find out.
- When the product changes every month. Brand the company once the positioning settles.
- Naming and long research programmes. Agencies with strategy teams are built for that.
What a brand system includes
- A logo and a flexible mark, for light and dark backgrounds, from favicon size to a banner.
- A colour system: brand colours plus the tints and neutrals an interface needs, checked for contrast.
- A type system: typefaces and a size scale for headings, body and small print.
- Written guidelines for spacing, use and misuse, so people who were not in the room apply it correctly.
- A social and collateral kit: templates for the posts and collateral you use most.
Each colour is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA: 4.5:1 contrast for text and 3:1 for buttons, borders and meaningful icons. More on branding, and on when a rebrand pays in rebranding before a Series A.
What hiring a brand designer costs
| Route | Typical price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Branding agencies | Most projects $10,000 to $49,999; $100 to $149 an hour | Clutch's branding guide, updated 21 September 2026 |
| Brand identity sprints | For example, DesignMe lists one from $10,000 | DesignMe alternative |
| Me | A fixed quote within 24 hours; the website sprint puts it live for $1,999 | Published prices |
Logo-only work is cheaper, but a logo without colour, type and rules is not a brand system: the next person to make a slide or a page has nothing to follow.
How to vet any brand designer
Whoever you hire, check these before you sign:
- Applied work. Ask to see the brand on a live site and in a product, not only on mockups.
- Colours that pass contrast. Brand colours used for text should reach 4.5:1 against their background.
- Guidelines people can use. A few clear pages with examples, not a 60-page PDF nobody opens.
- Source files. Editable files you own, not only exported images.
- A fixed price in writing. What is included, the number and the schedule before work starts.
Brand designer or branding agency?
An agency brings strategists, researchers and naming specialists, and prices to match. One brand designer brings a faster, more direct process and the person who designs it is the person you talk to. If you already know who you are for and what you stand for, a designer is usually enough. If you are still working that out, start with positioning, not a logo. Freelancer vs agency lays out the trade-offs.
Putting the brand live
Most rebrands stall at applying the new identity. The website sprint puts it live on a custom site for $1,999 in 14 days, and the product design sprint applies it to product screens for $1,999. A brand that exists only in a PDF has not launched.

Yes. A custom website is $1,999 in 14 days, and product screens can be designed on the 14-day product design sprint for $1,999.
Will the colours work for accessibility?
Yes. Each colour is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA, with darker or lighter partners for any that fail as text.
