Quick answer

Shopify is built for selling: unlimited products from $22 a month billed yearly, a large app store and its own checkout. Webflow Ecommerce suits small, design-led stores, from $29 a month for 500 items with a 2% transaction fee. Choose Shopify when selling is the business; choose Webflow when the brand site comes first and the catalogue is small.

Webflow and Shopify overlap only at the edges. Webflow is a visual website builder that added ecommerce plans; it gives designers precise control over every page. Shopify is a commerce platform that also builds storefronts; it gives merchants inventory, payments, shipping and thousands of apps.

When I checked on 29 October 2026, Webflow's Ecommerce plans were Standard at $29 a month for 500 items with a 2% transaction fee, Plus at $74 for 5,000 items and Advanced at $212 for 15,000, both without the fee, all billed yearly. Shopify, in the US, was Basic at $22 a month billed yearly ($25 monthly), Grow at $58, Advanced at $359, and Plus from $2,300.

Choose Webflow if…

  • The brand site and content matter more than the store
  • You sell a small catalogue, within Webflow's item limits
  • Designers need full control of every product page
  • You already run your marketing site on Webflow

Choose Shopify if…

  • Selling is the core of the business
  • The catalogue is large or growing
  • You sell in person, on social or on marketplaces too
  • You need apps for subscriptions, reviews or fulfilment

The honest verdict

If you are a store, use Shopify. Unlimited products from its cheapest plan, its checkout and its app store are hard to match, and Webflow's item caps and 2% fee on Standard show where Webflow's priorities lie.

If you are a brand that also sells a few things, Webflow keeps the site and the shop in one design. Some teams split it: the marketing site on Webflow and the store on Shopify, linked from the navigation, so each tool does what it is best at.
