Quick answer: A WordPress site of up to about 25 pages can move to Framer in 14 days for a fixed $1,999 on my redesign sprint. Every page is redesigned and rebuilt in Framer, posts move into the Framer CMS, and every old URL is redirected so rankings carry over. The site then runs on Framer Pro, because Framer's Basic plan has no redirects.
Why teams move from WordPress to Framer
- No plugins or core updates to manage. Framer hosts and runs the site, so there is no plugin stack to keep patched and compatible.
- Your team edits pages visually. Marketing can change a page or publish a post without a developer or a page-builder plugin.
- The design is rebuilt properly, once. Instead of patching a theme, every page is redesigned around what the site has to prove now.
What comes across from WordPress, and how
| From WordPress | How it moves to Framer |
|---|---|
| Posts | WordPress exports them under Tools → Export as a WXR (XML) file. They are converted to CSV and imported into a Framer CMS collection. |
| Pages | Rebuilt in Framer. Their layouts do not map to Framer, so the design is redone rather than imported. |
| Categories and tags | In the same export file. They become fields, or a collection of their own, in Framer. |
| Custom post types and fields | Also in the export. Each type becomes a Framer collection with matching fields. |
| Images and media | Re-uploaded to Framer, with alt text carried across. |
| Titles and descriptions | Carried across page by page, then checked against the old pages. |
| Forms | Rebuilt with Framer forms or wired to the form tool you already use. |
| Plugins | There is no plugin equivalent. Each plugin's job is replaced by a Framer feature, an embed or a service, or dropped. |
| Comments | Included in the export. Decide before the move whether to keep them; many marketing sites drop them. |
How I move a WordPress site to Framer
The same six steps on every move:
- Inventory every URL. From the sitemap and analytics, list every page that exists today and decide for each: keep, redirect or drop.
- Export what the platform allows. Each platform lets different things out. What cannot be exported is rebuilt from the live site.
- Rebuild the design in Framer. Every page is redesigned and built natively in Framer, not copied pixel for pixel.
- Import the CMS content. Content goes into Framer CMS collections; a sample is checked before the rest is imported.
- Recreate titles and redirects. Titles and descriptions carry across page by page, and every old URL gets a 301 redirect on Framer Pro.
- Switch over, then watch. The old site stays live until you approve the new one. After the switch, old URLs are tested and search coverage is watched.
What is specific to WordPress:
- Export from WordPress. Tools → Export produces the WXR file with posts, pages, custom post types, comments, custom fields, categories and tags.
- Clean the content. Shortcodes and page-builder markup are stripped so posts read cleanly in Framer.
- Copy sections where it helps. Framer's official HTML to Framer Chrome extension can copy sections from the live site as a starting point for the rebuild.
- Map old permalinks. Old URL patterns such as dated post paths are redirected to the new structure, using wildcards for whole folders.
The 14 days, written down
The move runs on the website redesign sprint: $1,999 fixed, for a site of up to about 25 pages, with the old site live until you approve the new one.
- Days 1 to 2: The read. What the current site gets right, what it costs you, and which pages actually earn their traffic. This is the part that decides whether the redesign is a restyle or a rethink, and sometimes it changes the plan.
- Days 3 to 7: Design. Every page designed against the real content, not placeholder text. You see the pages that matter first, so disagreements happen while they are still cheap.
- Days 8 to 11: Build. Built in Framer and made editable, with the component set your team will reuse for pages that come later.
- Days 12 to 14: Redirects and launch. Every old URL mapped to its new home, analytics reconnected, and the switch made only once you have signed off on the new site.
What a WordPress to Framer move costs
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The migration | $1,999 | Once, fixed, 14 days, up to about 25 pages |
| Framer Pro | $360 a year | $30 a month billed yearly, paid to Framer directly |
| Your current WordPress plan | Until the switch | Keep it until the redirects have been checked |
| Larger sites | Quoted separately | More than about 25 pages is a migration project |
Redirects need Framer Pro: Framer's own migration guide says the Basic plan does not include site redirects. Pro was $30 a month billed yearly when I checked.
The pre-launch checklist
- Every old URL returns a 301 to the right new page, tested from the inventory list
- Titles, descriptions and headings match or improve on the old pages
- Every form delivers to an inbox someone reads
- Images carry their alt text, and pages are as fast as or faster than before
- The new sitemap is live and submitted, and analytics records visits
- The old platform stays paid until the redirects have been checked after the switch
When this is not a 14-day move
- Sites with more than about 25 pages. That is a migration project, scoped and priced separately.
- WooCommerce stores with a large catalogue, which need a platform built for selling.
- Sites built around member logins, or around a plugin with no equivalent outside WordPress.
- Sites that have to stay on WordPress. If that is a requirement, I am the wrong person for the rebuild.

WordPress to Framer questions
Will I lose my Google rankings moving from WordPress to Framer?
Not if every old URL is redirected. The inventory lists every URL first, each one gets a 301 to its new home on Framer Pro, and whole folders such as old blog paths are covered with wildcard redirects.
Can my blog posts move automatically?
Posts move in bulk: WordPress exports them as a WXR file, which is converted to CSV and imported into the Framer CMS. Pages are rebuilt by hand, because their layouts do not map to Framer.
Do I need Framer Pro?
Yes, for a migration. Framer's own guide says the Basic plan does not include site redirects, and redirects are what keep your rankings. Pro was $30 a month billed yearly when I checked.
What happens to my WordPress hosting?
It stays live until you approve the new site. After the switch, keep it until the redirects have been checked, then cancel it.
How long does a WordPress to Framer migration take?
14 days for a site of up to about 25 pages, on a schedule you get before you commit. Larger sites are scoped separately.
