How we source and rank firms

Where the data comes from

Every credential on a profile links to the page we checked and shows the date we checked it. An “Official listing” credential was seen on the accrediting body's public listing; a “Firm-stated” credential comes from the firm's own website. Anything we couldn't confirm shows “Not yet verified”. We never invent firms, credentials, prices or reviews.

How the list is ordered

Firms are ordered by the number of official credentials, then by total credentials, then alphabetically. Payment plays no part in that order: a test in our code checks that the list is identical with every paid placement removed.

Paid placements

Firms can pay for a placement in a separate block labeled “Featured”, and Premium firms receive matching quote requests (at most 3 firms per request). Paid placements never appear inside the organic list.

Reviews

Reviewers confirm their email, and a person reads each review before it appears. Star ratings appear only when a firm has approved reviews.
