To migrate from WordPress to Webflow: export your WordPress content as XML, convert it to CSV and import it into Webflow CMS collections, rebuild the design in Webflow, then permanently redirect every WordPress URL that changes. Webflow's own guide follows this route. A CMS site needs Webflow's Premium plan, $25 a month billed yearly on 29 October 2026.
WordPress to Webflow is one of the most common platform moves for marketing teams that want visual control without plugins. It is not an import button: content moves, design is rebuilt, and the URLs need care. This guide walks through it in order, using Webflow's documentation, read on 29 October 2026.
Before you start
- Check your plan: Webflow Basic, $15 a month, has no CMS; Premium, $25 a month billed yearly, includes it. Check your plan's collection item limits before importing.
- List every URL from your WordPress sitemap, Search Console and analytics, including categories, tags and media files that get traffic
- Record the SEO: titles, meta descriptions and the queries each top page ranks for
- Decide what to drop: old tag archives and thin pages can return a 404 instead of moving
Step 1: export the WordPress content
WordPress exports content as an XML file from Tools, then Export: posts, pages, categories, tags and custom post types. Webflow's migration guide recommends converting that XML to CSV with an XML to CSV converter, because Webflow imports CMS content as CSV.
Step 2: build the collections and import
- Create a collection for each content type: blog posts, authors, categories, case studies
- Import the CSV into the collection and map each column to a field, creating fields as needed
- Import referenced collections, such as authors and categories, before the posts that point to them
- Upload images through the Assets panel, and check images inside post bodies came across
Step 3: rebuild the design
WordPress themes and page builder layouts do not transfer. Rebuild the design in Webflow, from a template, from scratch, or from Figma with Webflow's Figma tools. Use the move to set up a clean class system and reusable components, so the new site stays consistent.
Step 4: map and redirect the URLs
WordPress often uses date-based post URLs, category archives and attachment pages that Webflow will not reproduce. Map each one to its new address:
| WordPress URL | Typical Webflow URL |
|---|---|
| /2024/05/10/post-name/ | /blog/post-name |
| /category/news/ | A category page from a categories collection, or a filtered blog page |
| /about-us/ | /about |
| /wp-content/uploads/file.pdf | The file on Webflow's asset host, linked from a page |
Add the redirects in Site settings, Publishing, 301 redirects, or import them as a CSV. Webflow says an import overwrites every existing redirect, so export the current list first and import one file with everything. The redirect planner writes the Webflow CSV for you.
Step 5: launch and check
- Carry over titles and meta descriptions, and set canonical tags
- Publish, connect the domain, and test every redirect on the live domain
- Submit the new sitemap in Search Console and watch the indexing report for not found errors
- Keep the redirects for at least a year, as Google's site move guide advises
What it costs
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Webflow Premium (CMS) | $25 a month billed yearly, $300 a year |
| The migration | Your time, a freelancer, an agency, or a fixed quote |
| WordPress hosting during the overlap | Until every redirect is tested on the live domain |
For what agencies and freelancers charge, see website migration cost.
Webflow or Framer?
If your team wants a deep, relational CMS and precise control of the markup, Webflow is a good destination. If marketers will edit the site every week and want the easiest editor, consider Framer: I move WordPress sites to Framer for a fixed $1,999 in 14 days, with every URL redirected. The trade-offs are in Framer vs Webflow, and I take on Webflow development too, quoted fixed.
