Quick answer: Framer has a built-in field for Google Analytics: create a GA4 property, copy its Measurement ID, paste it into the Google Analytics Measurement ID field in Site Settings and publish. No code is needed. Other analytics tools go in Framer's Custom Code section instead.
How to connect Google Analytics to Framer
- Create a Google Analytics account and a GA4 property if you do not have one
- Copy the property's Measurement ID
- In Framer, open Site Settings and paste it into the Google Analytics Measurement ID field
- Save and publish the site
- Open GA4's real-time report and visit the site to check it records
Good to know
- Framer's help notes that GA4 does not log or store IP addresses, so IP anonymisation is not required
- You are still responsible for consent and privacy rules where your visitors are
- For events beyond page views, many teams install Google Tag Manager instead
Before you add tracking
- Check the consent rules for where your visitors are, and add a consent banner if you need one
- Mask typed text in any tool that records sessions
- Install each tool once, so page views are not counted twice
- Test on the published site, not the editor preview, and watch page speed after adding scripts

Google Analytics and Framer questions
Does Framer support Google Analytics 4?
Yes. Paste your GA4 Measurement ID into the Google Analytics Measurement ID field in Site Settings and publish.
Do I need Google Tag Manager as well?
Not for basic page views. Use Tag Manager when you want to manage several tags or track clicks and other events without changing the site.
