Onboarding is everything that happens between a user signing up and reaching their first meaningful result. It's the most decisive part of the experience: a confusing onboarding loses users before they ever see the product's value.
Great onboarding is designed around the activation moment — getting the user to the 'aha' as fast as possible — not around a tour of every feature.
